Open Door Politics…

Prior to Tanya’s election in 2008.  Jordan did not hold town hall meetings. After her first year as an elected official, the city council held a strategic planning session.  The goal? To promote communication between citizens,  staff, and council members.

The “town hall meeting concept” is an informal meeting to discuss the happenings, encourage discussion, and open communication with the public.  Jordan now holds these meetings quarterly for its citizens who are interested to learn city topics, possible issues, and inform the city council of other concerns within the community. All Jordan residents are free to attend.

Tanya believes an open door policy in government allows the public to express their constitutional rights in our democratic society. Communication is key to the well being and prosperity of our community.
